O u r P r o g r a m s

Since 1996 we took the mission to empower residents and stakeholders through initiatives in Affordable Housing Projects, Business, Workforce and Youth Development, Green Spaces, Public Safety and other activities like:

 
Family Financial Literacy
Educates families to manage their household income and finances while setting short and long-term saving goals. ACT has trained over 15 families in this training.
Parks and Open Spaces

We are developing two new parks in our neighborhood. One is known as the “FEMA parklands” located at corners of Daisy and Holly streets.

Additionally our Spicket River Greenway will create a public greenway along the Spicket River beginning at Stevens Pond and ending at Lawrence General Hospital.

Housing Development
Our housing initiative targets to develop 4-8 units affordable housing in the upcoming year. We are raising funds to purchase more vacant or abandoned lots to build affordable housing and encourage investments in our neighborhood.
Youth Leadership Program
Offers jobs and leadership skills to youth and a summer camp for younger children residing in the Arlington neighborhood. Over 100 youth have participated in our leadership programs.
Lawrence Ambiente Initiative
Offers FREE environmental training (asbestos and lead paint removal) targeted to renewal community residents – for the past 2 years we have graduated 37 residents who are now licensed to work in these well paid careers.
Business Diversity Initiative
Provides training to low/ moderate income individuals, research data and technical assistance to new and emerging businesses.

We have assisted over 60 businesses with different types of Seminar and workshops (Marketing plan, Business plan, Taxes and Accounting), annual Business Expo, technical assistance, referrals to other organizations, etc.
